Ms. Marcum graduated from Texas A&M University – Kingsville in 2011 with a B.A. in Communications-Journalism with honors.  She then attended the University of Arkansas School of Law and received her with honors in 2016.


While in law school, Ms. Marcum served as Articles Editor of the Journal of Food Law & Policy, a long-recognized leader in publishing articles and essays on food law and its impact on society.  She also authored an article which was published in the Journal, Man’s Best Friend: FDA Adopts New Rule in Wake of Pet Deaths, But Will It Have a Significant Impact on the Pet Food Industry?, 11 J. Food L. & Pol’y 181 (2015).  She had the opportunity to extern for the Honorable Timothy L. Brooks of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Arkansas, where she drafted opinions and orders.  She also worked as a corporate extern in the HIPAA Compliance department at Walmart’s corporate headquarters in Bentonville, Arkansas.  Ms. Marcum has experience in various aspects of litigation, including drafting pleadings, evidentiary motions and dispositive motions; preparing and responding to written discovery; making oral arguments on discovery motions; and deposing fact witnesses.  She has defended clients in cases involving vehicular accidents, premises liability, and contract disputes.

Ms. Marcum was raised in Corpus Christi.  Prior to attending law school, she worked as a newspaper producer for E.W. Scripps, designing covers and local content pages for newspapers across Texas, including the Abilene Reporter-News, the San Angelo Standard-Times, and the Times New Record in Wichita Falls, and California and Washington papers, including the Record Searchlight in Redding, the Ventura County Star, and the Kitsap Sun. Outside of work, Ms. Marcum enjoys reading, spending time with her friends and family, including her two dogs, and cheering on the Arkansas Razorbacks.
