Ms. Garza graduated from Rice University with a B.A. in 2005. She attended Universite Paris IV where she received a certificate in language. She then attended Tulane University School of Law and received her J.D. degree in 2009. She was an editor for the Tulane Law Maritime Journal; the preeminent student-edited law publication in the field of admiralty and maritime law, the Journal has been cited multiple times by the U.S. Supreme Court. Ms. Garza also holds a certificate in Maritime Law from Tulane.
Ms. Garza has a broad understanding of the numerous claims and defenses asserted by various parties in litigation. Ms. Garza’s experience emphasizes litigation that pertains to businesses, corporations and developers. Ms. Garza also counsels clients in a wide variety of restructuring and insolvency matters. She has represented debtors, secured creditors, unsecured creditors, and others in both Chapter 7 and 11 bankruptcy proceedings, litigates preferential and fraudulent transfer cases, and has substantial experience representing and defending clients before various bankruptcy and district courts.

Ms. Garza was raised in San Diego, Texas in Duval County, where her father has been a practicing attorney for over thirty-five years. She maintains an active role in her hometown community. Before law school, Ms. Garza was a Regulatory Analyst for a global insurance company. Prior to becoming an associate with Hoblit Darling Ralls Hernandez & Hudlow LLP, Mariana practiced in the areas of bankruptcy, debt restructuring, immigration, and personal injury. Ms. Garza and her twin sons live in Corpus Christi, Texas.
